
Grounding is an ancient technique used in meditation traditions around the world. Grounding will focus you and allow you to feel stabilized. It is simple to do too! Sit with your feet flat on the floor and your hands separated in your lap. Take a deep breath in and close your eyes. Focus your attention on your first chakra, (about 4 inches below your navel). Visualize a grounding cord, a stream of energy, flowing down from your first chakra, through your chair and through the concrete foundation to the beginning layers of the earth. Now allow your grounding cord to continue to flow through the many layers of the earth to the center of the earth and become securely connected. (Similar to the connection cords in the Avatar movie). You can also allow energy that is disturbing you, to flow down your grounding at anytime. Breathe, relax, let go of any effort and ground.
